Institutional theory is often used to explain the adoption and spread of formal organizational structures, including written policies, standard practices, and new forms of organization. At the organization level, institutional logics can be seen as sources of managerial decision-making rules, and hence institutional logics research is related to research on the BTOF and evolutionary theory.
