Thyroid-stimulating hormone (also known as thyrotropin, thyrotropic hormone, or abbreviated TSH) is a pituitary hormone that stimulates the thyroid gland to produce thyroxine (T 4), and then triiodothyronine (T 3) which stimulates the metabolism of almost every tissue in the body. Thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH) is a hypophysiotropic hormone produced by neurons in the hypothalamus that stimulates the release of thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) and prolactin from the anterior pituitary. TRH has been used clinically for the treatment of spinocerebellar degeneration and disturbance of consciousness in humans. Thyroid Stimulating Hormone or TSH or Thyrotropin is a hormone produced by the pituitary gland, a small organ located below the brain and behind the sinus cavities.
Thyrotropin alfa may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide. 1992-05-01 Thyrotropin-releasing hormone is involved in the regulation and release of thyroid-stimulating hormone, as well as prolactin. Deficiency of this hormone has been associated with hypothalamic hypothyroidism.

Thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH) regulates various physiological activities through activation of receptors expressed in a broad range of cells in the central nervous system. The cerebellum expresses TRH receptors in granule cells and molecular layer interneurons. However, the function of TRH in ….

Thyrotropin mostly causes the thyroid gland to secrete T4 and smaller amounts of T3. T3 is more potent but we release less of it. In other words, the factors that cause the release of T4 and T3 are Thyrotropin (aka TSH; Thyroid Stimulating Hormone) from the (anterior lobe of the) pituitary gland (the adenohypophysis).

Recommended first-line test for detection of /thyrotropin receptor antibodies The following situations:-Differential diagnosis of etiology of thyrotoxicosis in patients with ambiguous clinical findings and/or contraindicated (eg, pregnant or breast-feeding) or nondiagnostic thyroid radioisotope scans thyrotropin (thī'rätrō`pĭn) or thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), hormone hormone, secretory substance carried from one gland or organ of the body via the bloodstream to more or less specific tissues, where it exerts some influence upon the metabolism of the target tissue.
Thyrotropin-releasing hormone is one of the smallest hormones in the body, consisting of a miniature chain of just three amino acid building blocks. It is made by a cluster of nerve cells in the hypothalamus, an area at the base of the brain just above the pituitary gland.
